A regulated market takes another step forward

The Argentine province of Santa Fe is continuing to build out its regulated online gaming and sports betting framework, with BMM Testlabs becoming the latest major player to receive official approval to operate in the region. The certification, granted by Caja de Asistencia Social – Lotería de Santa Fe, authorises BMM Testlabs to provide independent testing and certification services to gaming operators and providers across the province.

What BMM Testlabs brings to the table

BMM Testlabs is one of the most recognised names in gaming certification globally, and its entry into Santa Fe’s market signals a clear intent to build a framework grounded in international compliance standards. Independent testing is a cornerstone of any credible regulated market — ensuring fairness, security and transparency across all platforms operating under the province’s licence.

Speaking on the approval, BMM Testlabs expressed its commitment to supporting Santa Fe’s growth as a regulated gaming destination, emphasising its close collaboration with local regulators to uphold the highest standards of fair play and compliance.

Licensing process already underway

The BMM Testlabs approval comes alongside a broader licensing push. Lotería de Santa Fe previously announced an international tender for online sports betting licences, with applications submitted to the province’s Subsecretaría de Contrataciones y Gestión de Bienes. Notably, Santa Fe has placed no cap on the number of licensees — a relatively open approach compared to other regulated markets — with each operator required to pay a minimum royalty of 15% of gross gaming revenue. Licences will run for up to ten years, with a possible two-year extension subject to regulatory discretion.

A reference point for Latin America

Santa Fe’s methodical approach to market development — bringing in globally recognised testing infrastructure ahead of a full operator rollout — is being watched closely across the region. The use of certified testing labs is a growing trend in Latin American gaming regulation, and Santa Fe’s willingness to open its tender internationally while maintaining rigorous compliance standards positions it as one of the more credible and forward-thinking frameworks in the continent.

For operators eyeing entry into Argentina’s provincial markets, Santa Fe is increasingly looking like a well-structured and professionally managed environment worth taking seriously.
