Cheltenham Festival 2026: Gold Cup Day Sells Out as Race Week Approaches

Cheltenham Festival

The most anticipated day of the racing calendar is gone

With Cheltenham Festival just a week away, Gold Cup Day has officially sold out. The grand finale of race week — falling on Friday, March 13 this year — sold its last tickets as of March 2, though a limited selection of hospitality packages remains available for those still looking to secure a spot.

The Gold Cup itself gets underway at 4pm, run over three miles and two furlongs, with the winner claiming one of jump racing’s most coveted prizes.

Ticket options and what’s left

For those still eyeing the remaining three days of the Festival — Tuesday 10 through Thursday 12 March — availability is limited and narrowing fast. Champions Day, which opens the week on March 10, is also close to selling out.

Tickets are priced from £60 per person for the Best Mate Enclosure, offering a head-on view of the course adjacent to the finish line, up to £115 per person for the Club Enclosure, which provides access to all premium public areas and unobstructed views of the iconic winning post.

A week packed with marquee racing

Beyond the Gold Cup, the Festival’s schedule is stacked with headline events. Champions Day features the Unibet Champion Hurdle, Ladies’ Day on Wednesday March 11 showcases the Queen Mother Champion Steeple Chase, and Thursday March 12 brings the Ryanair Steeple Chase alongside St Patrick’s Day-themed festivities — making every day of the week a destination in its own right.
