A new benchmark for crypto poker
CoinPoker is making its most ambitious move yet with the launch of the World Poker Masters — a tournament series boasting $25 million in total guarantees, with $2.5 million concentrated in the main event alone. The series runs from May 3 through June 1, positioning it squarely in the lead-up to the annual summer poker migration to Las Vegas and the World Series of Poker.
For context, CoinPoker’s previous flagship series — the Winter Poker Masters, held in December and January — guaranteed $10 million. The World Poker Masters represents a 150% leap, a clear statement of intent from the world’s leading crypto poker operator.
What’s in the festival
The main event is a $530 multi-flight tournament using a best-stack-forward format, with Day 2 qualification available every Sunday throughout the series. The structure gives players multiple shots at advancing, reducing the all-or-nothing pressure of a single entry.
Beyond the main event, the festival includes the $55 mini main with $500,000 guaranteed, the $215 CoinMillion guaranteeing $1 million, and the $1,500 CoinMasters High Roller also carrying a $1 million guarantee. Festival leaderboards offer an additional $500,000 in prizes, with $30,000 going to the overall leaderboard winner and weekly winners eligible for up to $15,000.
Targeting the space left by SCOOP
The spring online tournament calendar has traditionally been dominated by PokerStars’ Spring Championship of Online Poker — one of the most storied series in online poker history. This year, however, SCOOP wrapped up in late March, shifted slightly earlier to lead into the Irish Poker Open. That adjustment has left a window in May that CoinPoker is well positioned to fill.
By launching World Poker Masters in that newly vacated space, CoinPoker is not just competing with legacy operators — it is strategically targeting the gap they have left behind, giving players a high-volume, high-guarantee alternative as they prepare for the Las Vegas summer grind.
Crypto poker’s moment
The World Poker Masters arrives at a time when crypto poker is gaining serious traction among the broader poker community. For players already planning their WSOP schedules, a $25 million guarantee series offers a compelling warm-up — and one that can be played from anywhere, without the need to travel to a casino. CoinPoker is betting that combination of scale, timing and accessibility is enough to make the World Poker Masters a fixture on the spring poker calendar for years to come.
